Review of Minutes from Previous Board Meeting: October 21, 2015
• Larry moved to accept the minutes; Jaime seconded
Treasurer’s Report
• See Treasurer’s report dated January 20, 2016
• Jaime explained the added $30 added Business Checking Fee: the bank had automatically added to all accounts “elite” member status which was hidden in the wordage of ‘explanation of benefits’. Jaime sorted this out with the bank and we will no longer be charged the $10 a month fee.
• Jaime proposed that the HOA offer homeowners a payment plan if necessary to pay their property dues; Jaime will draft the letter
• Jaime may put another ‘reminder to pay dues’ sign out
• Brooke moved to accept the Treasurer’s report; Susan seconded
Website
• Our current webmaster, Valerie Markell, has moved out of our neighborhood so it will be necessary to find a replacement; Jaime will talk to Joe Scott who had previously expressed an interest & will let Peter know; also wanted to let whoever would be replacement that they would not be solely responsible for the content
• Lengthy discussion followed regarding the pros and cons of adding a neighborhood Facebook page; it was agreed that it would be an investment in the community to have a well-structured Facebook page
• Denise moved to set aside $300 to employ marketing consultant & neighbor, Brooke Huffman to set up a Facebook page, establishing limits and sending a letter to each household explaining the process; Barb seconded the motion and all approved
New Neighbors
• Welcome letter update: Barb will correct email mistakes
• Barb & Brooke will present a basket & letter to two of the newest residents: Blackmores & Pam Crum
Disaster Preparedness
• Jaime will take the outdated but purposeful document, “Community Emergency Preparedness”, and find out how much it might cost to reproduce it after it as been updated
• Discussion: How do we get the neighbors engaged in preparing our neighborhood for a disaster? Possible solution: a series of social events that could draw neighbors together that could lead to the next disaster preparedness meeting
• Denise & Barb will get together and plan the next social which hopefully will take place in February
Landscaping:
• Barb will talk to Pat who has been involved in the entry landscaping project in the past to see if she is still interested in working on this; Barb will also contact Master Gardeners Laura Rencher & Amber Karr for input regarding next steps for our Seminole entry
Next Board Meeting: April 13th, Wed. @ Barb Emel’s home @ 5:30
Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM
